The Soko J-21 Jastreb was a Yugoslav light attack jet aircraft developed in the 1960s to provide air support against invading columns with little preparation. It was a single-seat development of the G-2 Galeb trainer with a stronger engine and greater armament. The J-21 would make for a well-rounded Yugoslav strike aircraft in the early jet ranks.

SOKO J-21 Jastreb (Hawk) History The former Yugoslav SOKO J-21 "Jastreb" ("Eagle") is a further development of the original 1961 G-2 "Galeb" (detailed elsewhere on this page). The two-seat Caleb is the country's first domestically designed, developed and produced aircraft, fulfilling the role of advanced jet trainer and light attack aircraft.

The Soko G-2 Galeb (from Serbian: галеб, lit. 'seagull') is a Yugoslav single engine, two-seater jet trainer and light ground-attack aircraft. The G-2 was developed during the 1950s by the Aeronautical Technical Institute at Žarkovo as a replacement for the Lockheed T-33 in service with the Yugoslav Air Force.
